The MG811 CO2 Gas Sensor Module is capable of sensing carbon dioxide air concentration levels between 350 and 10,000ppm. The ideal sensing condition for the MG-811 CO2 Gas Sensor is 25°C ±2°C at 65% ±5% humidity.
The MG811 CO2 Gas Sensor Module makes it easy to monitor carbon dioxide gas concentration levels using our I2C Mini Module form factor. This MG811 sensor module is a little bit special because it require 6VDC to function properly.
The CO2 Gas Sensor Module is designed to allow a microcontroller to determine when a preset Carbon Dioxide gas level has been reached or exceeded. Interfacing with this sensor is done through a 4-pin SIP header and requires two I/O pins from the host microcontroller. The sensor module is intended to provide a means of comparing gas sources and being able to set an alarm limit when the source becomes excessive.
There is an on-board signal conditioning circuit for amplifying output signal and an on-board heating circuit for heating the sensor, which is capable expanding to 9 gas sensors per I2C port using just two address jumpers (making full use of the floating address system). This MG811 CO2 Gas Sensor Module is less Sensitive to Carbon monoxide(CO) and Alcohol.
The MG-811 is highly sensitive to CO2 and less sensitive to alcohol and CO. It could be used in air quality control, ferment process, in-door air monitoring application. The output voltage of the module falls as the concentration of the CO2 increases.
This MG811 CO2 Gas Sensor Module has dual on board power supply. It has one dedicated 6V power supply for the Gas sensor element and one 5V power supply for Analog interface chip.
