2N6027 UJT Programmable Unijunction Transistor
The 2N6027 UJT is a programmable unijunction transistor (PUT) that is design for adjustable (programmable) characteristics such as Valley Current (IV), Peak Current (IP), and Intrinsic Standoff Ratio (η).
This PUT 2N6027 Transistor is a silicon transistor that is manufactured in an epoxy molded package. The 2N6027 Transistor has a collector-emitter voltage rating of 40 volts and a collector current rating of 300 milliamperes. It is a small signal transistor that is typically use in oscillator, pulse, and timing circuits.
The Transistor UJT 2N6027 has a collector-emitter voltage rating of 40 volts. This means that the maximum voltage that can apply between the collector and emitter pins is 40 volts.
The 2N6027 transistor works by using a negative resistance characteristic to generate an oscillating output voltage. The negative resistance characteristic is created by the interaction of the gate and cathode pins. When the gate pin is connected to a positive voltage, it creates a depletion region in the P-type base region of the transistor. This depletion region acts as a barrier to current flow between the gate and cathode pins.
In addition to the voltage ratings, it is also important to be aware of the current ratings for the 2N6027 transistor. The collector current rating for the 2N6027 transistor is 300 milliamperes. This means that the maximum current that can safely draw from the collector pin is 300 milliamperes.
The gate current rating for the 2N6027 transistor is 50 milliamperes. This means that the maximum current that can safely drawn from the gate pin is 50 milliamperes. If the current drawn from the gate pin exceeds 50 milliamperes, the transistor can damage.
This 6027 Transistor may also use in special thyristor applications due to the availability of an anode gate.
