10K Variable Potentiometer Resistor Volume Type / rotary type potentiometers are used mainly for obtaining adjustable supply voltage to a part of electronic circuits and electrical circuits.
The volume controller of a radio transistor is a popular example of a rotary potentiometer where the rotary knob of the potentiometer controls the supply to the amplifier.
10K Variable Potentiometer (Pot) is a three-terminal device that employs a resistive element and a rotating contact to form an adjustable voltage divider.
If only two terminals are used, one end of the element and the adjustable contact, it acts as a variable resistor or rheostat.
The 10K Variable Potentiometer are very useful in changing the electrical parameters of a system. It is a single turn 10k Potentiometer with a rotating knob. These potentiometers are also commonly called as a rotary potentiometer or just POT in short
10K Variable Potentiometer work by varying the position of a sliding contact across a uniform resistance. In a potentiometer, the entire input voltage is applied across the whole length of the resistor, and the output voltage is the voltage drop between the fixed and sliding contact.
10K Variable Potentiometer has the two terminals of the input source fixed to the end of the resistor. To adjust the output voltage the sliding contact gets moved along the resistor on the output side.
The rating or “resistive” value of a potentiometer or variable resistor relates to the resistive value of the entire stationary resistance track from one fixed terminal to the other. So a potentiometer with a rating of 1kΩ will have a resistive track equal to the value of a 1kΩ fixed resistor.

10K Variable Potentiometer Characteristics :-
All the Potentiometers have some characteristics. These characteristics also apply to the rotary ones which listed in the following:
They are extremely accurate as they work on the evaluating technique rather than the technique of deflection to determine the unidentified voltages.
they determine the balance point otherwise null which does not need power for the dimension.
The potentiometer working is free from the resistance of source as there is no flow of current throughout the potentiometer as its balanced.
The main characteristics of this potentiometers are resolution, taper, the marking codes & hop on/hop off resistan
